NOTES ON TASTING In many ways, Willett Family Estate Bottled Bourbon is a very unique whiskey. The Bourbon label is the only one of its kind in existence and is used only for our family’s Private Barrel Selection program. It is a barrel-proof, unchill-filtered, pure Bourbon whiskey with a remarkable depth and complexity. This bottle comes from Barrel No. 2073 and has been matured for 15 years.

Concerning Willett

Craft whiskey distillation is a family tradition for the Willetts. During Reconstruction, John David Willlett started distilling at the Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery, which is located just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. A. Lambert Willett, his 15-year-old son, started working as an apprentice for his father in 1898. Lambert eventually bought a farm outside of Bardstown, Kentucky, and in the spring of 1935 he started building the Willett Distilling Company. The family legacy endures even though Willett Distilling Company subsequently changed its name to Kentucky Bourbon Distillers. Even KBD’s owner, Kulsveen, is Willett’s son-in-law.
