The flavor of this high-rye bourbon remains consistent since it was aged in carefully chosen barrels located in the center of their former warehouse. It combines smoother, creamier, and sweeter older whiskey with their younger, rye-forward vintages. This expression, which is 100 proof and has won a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2016, 2017, and 2020, is strong and powerful.

In a pub in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, screenwriter Jonathan Hensleigh met co-founder Aaron Chepenik in 2004. This is how the Nevada H & C Distilling Co. story started. They soon came to the realization that they shared the same idea to operate The Griffin pub together. After having the notion to make their own spirits one evening, they opened the city of Las Vegas’s first distillery. Since there had never been a license for them specifically, the City Council was forced to provide one. The process of assembling and configuring the equipment took six years, with several obstacles encountered. The good news was that they had multiple high-rye bourbons ready when they opened, so they could start serving customers right away.

They currently market two brands, Smoke Wagon and Silver Dollar, both of which have many awards from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
