About Remus-Bourbon
Known as the “King of the Bootleggers,” George Remus was a well-known bootlegger who used the Volstead Act’s loopholes to brew bourbon during Prohibition. German-born in 1878, he and his family moved to Chicago in the 1880s. He began working in his uncle’s drugstore as a teenager and eventually took over as proprietor. He gained knowledge there that would come in very handy during Prohibition, and the pharmacy would turn become the cornerstone of his enterprise George Remus single barrel bourbon review.
In order to get even more practical abilities, he changed occupations and eventually became a trial defense attorney after entering the legal field. He would defend other bootleggers as Prohibition began to wind down, noting the wealth they managed to build.
