Ole Smoky Butter Pecan Moonshine
The State of Tennessee changed its regulations in 2009, permitting the production of moonshine for the first time in more than a century. Joe Baker co-founded Ole Smoky in Tennessee, and since then, the company has produced a variety of flavored Moonshine, over a dozen whiskies, and ready-to-drink cocktails in cans.
The Ole Smoky family, who pride themselves on being Appalachian by birth, were among the first to enter the Smoky Mountains. They use age-old whiskey-making techniques to create their whiskeys. Baker quickly began creating unique, mountain-made moonshine once Tennessee’s state legislation changed to allow for the distillation of spirits. This made Ole Smoky the first distillery in East Tennessee history to receive a federal license.
Mango Habanero, Cinnamon, Root Beer, Peach, Peanut Butter, Vanilla Bean, Cookies & Cream, and a number of other styles are among their whiskey offerings. At 35 proof, Ole Smoky Butter Pecan Moonshine is one of their lower-proof flavored products. It is a super-creamy take on the traditional taste combination, using butter, cream, caramel, and toasted pecans as well as their own moonshine as the backbone.
