Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend Bourbon Whiskey
The finished spirit has unique characteristics thanks to the skillful finishing and blending of bourbon throughout the three casks. A lasting, warm finish is provided by the rich and complex aromas of vanilla, citrus, dark chocolate, brown sugar, and dark stone fruits found in this innovative bourbon. At the highest levels of competition, Joseph Magnus Bourbon has won multiple awards, including the Gold Medal for Best in Class Whiskey 2016 at ADI and Double Gold in 2016 and 2017 at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition.
Whiskeys aged 11 and 18 years are used in the Cigar Blend Bourbon expression, which is expertly mixed to complement cigars. Bottled at 100.7 proof, the robust bourbon boasts flavors of tobacco, spice, vanilla, fig, prunes, and dried fruit. The beverage is given its fruity characteristics by being finished in Armagnac brandy casks, which raises the drink’s fruitiness to a new level. In 2018 and 2019, this expression took home two gold medals from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition bourbon vs whiskey.

Concerning Joseph Magnus
Joseph Magnus Bourbon’s history began in the 1890s, but the Jos. A. Magnus & Co. distillery was reopened in 2015. The concept of reviving the craft of finished bourbon was conceived after Magnus’ great-grandson found an ancient bottle of his ancestor’s whiskey among family treasures. The liquid in that 122-year-old bottle was reverse-engineered using samples. The Jos. A. Magnus & Co. distillery in Washington, D.C., produces Joseph Magnus Bourbon, which is made up of 12-year-old bourbon from MGP in Indiana and triple-cask finished over several months in Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and cognac casks.
