Jack Daniel’s Rested Straight Rye Whiskey
Rested at Jack Daniel Distillery The Jack Daniel’s single barrel rye is the first fresh Mashbill utilized at the Jack Daniel Distillery Distillery in more over a century. Tennessee Rye Whiskey is made from a batch of 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley. A special strain of yeast and iron-free cave spring water are used to ferment the components after they have been mashed. After fermentation, the wash is distilled, and ten feet of charcoal are used to filter the final whiskey. The whiskey is referred to as “Tennessee Whiskey” because of this filtering method, called the Lincoln County Process, which also gives it a distinctively sweet and smoky flavor profile.
The whiskey is aged for two years in American oak casks after being charcoal filtered. Jeff Arnett, the master distiller of Jack Daniel Distillery, says, “We felt like we should offer our friends another limited-quantity rye expression that’s still handcrafted with the same passion and quality they expect from all of our products.” Even if this new product is excellent, it’s still only a taste of what’s to come. We hope they’ll keep that in mind.

About Jack Daniel Rye
Jasper Newton “Jack” Daniel was born on September 5, 1850, the youngest of ten children. His parents had Irish and Scottish ancestry. In 1864, Jack learned the art of whiskey-making from a preacher and an enslaved man named Nathan “Nearest” Green, who eventually became Jack Daniel Distillery’s head distiller. Daniel’s distillery was the nation’s first registered distillery, having been established in Lynchburg, Tennessee, in 1866. At the time, distilleries had to register with the federal government, and the Jack Daniel Distillery was assigned Registered Distillery Number 1. Today, Jack Daniel Distillery is one of the most famous and recognizable names in the spirits sector.
