Booker’s Teresa’s Batch 2019-01 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Bookers Bourbons, Johannes Reginald Beam immigrated to the United States from Germany after the American Revolutionary War ended, and he eventually made Kentucky County his home. John J. Bowman, a military governor, presided over Kentucky County, which was still regarded as a part of Virginia at the time.
Beam started collecting corn after moving to Kentucky, and he started a family custom of turning the extra grains he collected into whiskey. Since then, the Beam family has been producing whiskey for the firm of the same name for seven generations (the company is named after James Beam, who saved it during Prohibition).
In honor of Teresa Wittemer, a longstanding employee of the Beam distillery who was specifically chosen by 6th Generation Master Distiller Booker Noe to work on his namesake bourbon brand, Booker’s Batch 2019-01 has been named. Booker always trusted his instincts about good people and good bourbon. After a brief 15-minute interview more than 30 years ago, he immediately recruited Wittemer, and she has been a member of the family ever since.
A lingering, character-rich finish follows the highly nuanced savory and sweet aromas of this high-octane Booker’s Batch. Booker’s Batch 2019-01 has matured for 6 years, 3 months, and 1 day at 125.9 proof. A mash consisting of 77% corn, 13% rye, and 10% malted barley is used to make this bourbon.
