Booker’s Bardstown Batch 2021-03 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Booker Bourbon uncut and unfiltered bourbon is offered in small batches every year; each batch is painstakingly aged to perfection and is available when it’s ready. Bardstown Batch, the third release of 2021, honors the residence of Master Distiller Booker Noe and many Beam family generations. Although Booker Noe was born in Springfield, Kentucky, he eventually moved to Bardstown after graduating from college and would frequently travel there with his grandfather. Barrels from four production days that were aged in five distinct warehouses make up the bourbon. The whisky is matured for six years and five months and is bottled at a cask strength of 125.5 percent.

Booker Bourbon Notes on Tasting

The nose is greeted by notes of charred wood along with scents of caramel and brown sugar. Together with baking spices, the scents are elegantly reflected on the delightfully sweet palate. With lingering aromas, the full-bodied spirit has a crisp finish.

Booker Noe, Jim Beam’s grandson, was eager to become 21—not so he could start drinking, but so he could start distilling. Growing up in the center of Kentucky and being a sixth-generation distiller with Beam blood in his veins made it inevitable. After years of service as a Master Distiller, he retired and began bottling his own bourbon as presents for friends and family.

Along the way, he came up with the term “small batch” when he introduced the first batch of his namesake Booker’s Bourbon to the general public in 1988. Today, Booker’s runs under the Jim Beam distillery and is managed by his son Fred. He asked his son, “Fred, make sure they don’t mess with my Booker’s,” after he retired.
