Woodford reserve bourbon To extract more soft, sweet oak character, Double Oaked Bourbon matures Woodford Reserve’s award-winning Distiller’s Select Bourbon twice in a gently toasted, lightly charred bourbon barrel. There is nothing like the rich, vibrant flavor of this twice-barreled Kentucky whiskey. Chris Morris, the master distiller at Woodford Reserve, advises “doubling the maturation, doubling the wood exposure.” That is the Double Oaked character’s secret. The narrative is told in the second barrel.
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon has flavors of hazelnut, vanilla, and dark caramel with a long, creamy finish. It also smells like dark fruit and marzipan. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2023, the bourbon was recognized as a Double Gold Medal Winner.

About Bourbon Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
The Woodford Reserve Distillery is situated on the site of an earlier distillery that was established in the 1800s by Elijah and Oscar Pepper, their son. Years later, their distillery underwent a transformation and modernization while producing whiskey in the United States, revolutionizing the ideas of sour mash and yeast propagation under the direction of Oscar and Master Distiller James Crow.
Currently, it is one of the smallest and oldest bourbon distilleries in Kentucky. Tucked away in the center of the Commonwealth’s thoroughbred region, it’s the only location where you can find mature horses and bourbon together. It is also one of the few alcohol firms in the world with a cooperage where its barrels are crafted, meaning that precise toast and char standards can be achieved with innovative approach to Twicebarreled bourbon.
