Widow on the nose The flavors of sassafras, birch beer, and broken-in leather in Jane The Vaults 2021 15 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey are quite impressive. With aromas of mint, tobacco, vanilla, and lemon zest, the palate is pleasant and ends with a lengthy finish that includes notes of maple.

Concerning Widow Jane

When the Widow Jane crew decided to make their own whiskey, they wanted to provide a product that was robust, flavorful, and full of character—but most importantly, they wanted it to taste like New York. The renowned Rosendale Mines in New York, located only 100 miles north of their Red Hook, Brooklyn, home, provide the pure limestone water used to prove all Widow Jane whiskeys. The massive caissons of the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, and the 27,000-ton pedestal of the Statue of Liberty are just a few of the iconic buildings in New York that were built on limestone from this quarry.

The enormous underground caves are where this self-renewing water source gathers after being organically filtered via limestone. This water is a trademark and fingerprint of Widow Jane spirits, with an exceptionally high mineral concentration that accentuates the natural flavors. And the name Widow Jane whiskey comes from the tale surrounding these mines. The end product is some of the best matured Bourbon available, along with a mouthfeel that is smooth and creamy, a finish that is incredibly long, and lovely fragrances.
