Stellum Single Barrel Bourbon Lyra T8
For their single barrel program, they select only the best whiskeys. These are the Stellum Bourbon rye and bourbon variants that are bottled at cask strength and perform especially well when consumed alone rather than in a blend. The Caskers staff selected this barrel of Lyra T8. It was aged for five years in a new, charred American oak cask after being distilled in Indiana from a mash bill consisting of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. In 2021, the cask-strength expression was bottled at a proof of 118.32.

Concerning Stellum Spirits
Before starting Barrel Craft Spirits in Kentucky in 2013, Joe Beatrice was a longtime home brewer who wanted to spread his love of distinctive, premium spirits throughout the world. BCS is renowned for sourcing and blending all of their premium spirits, and their bourbon, whiskey, rye, and rum have all received praise from critics throughout the world. BCS upholds the ancient customs of distillation, selecting excellent spirits from throughout the globe, and combining them in premium casks to highlight each and every component.
There is no water, seasoning, or coloring added. They were successful in producing blends that are superior to the sum of their parts because to their distinctive method of crafting spirits. The most prominent accolades have gone to their single barrel, small batch, and cask-strength variants. After winning Double Gold in the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, their mixed bourbon helped pave the way for the emergence of blended whiskey.
Another indication of their skill is the Stellum Bourbon brand, which is owned by BCS. The lineup consists of a single barrel program, a barrel-proof rye, and a barrel-proof bourbon. “We wanted to create a brand that brings American Whiskey into the modern age with simple elegant blends and single barrels selected with care and intention,” stated founder Joe Beatrice.

Notes on Tasting
The nose is filled with scents of fresh hay, white chocolate, and almonds. With cocoa powder, clover, honey, and cinnamon oatmeal, the flavor is strong and complex. Ginger, praline, and barley give way to a lingering, sweet aftertaste.
