Ardbeg Ardcore Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The letter was used for the first time in Ardbeg whisky production when it was released in 2022. The whisky was made from a mash bill of 75% distillation malt (light-to-medium-peated malt rather than Ardbeg’s super-heavily peated malt) and 25% black malt. Dr. Bill Lumsden of Ardbeg described the expression made from the strongly roasted malt as “biting on a spiky ball.” Both first-fill and refill bourbon casks were used to mature the whisky.

Notes on Tasting
The nose is greeted by notes of caramel, mild sea scents, and sweeter, lighter smoke and charcoal. With notes of citrus, cocoa, and aniseed, the taste is strong, full, and greasy.
