Ardbeg Ardcore Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Scotch Whiskey Ardbeg participates in the annual Fèis Ìle celebrations, which are the ultimate whisky festival that takes place on the island of Islay. The Ardbeg Committee, which has more than 120,000 members worldwide, celebrates Ardbeg whisky by releasing limited-edition whiskies like Ardcore, which comes in a conventional 92-percent bottle and a Committee-exclusive that is bottled at 100.2 proof.

The letter was used for the first time in Ardbeg whisky production when it was released in 2022. The whisky was made from a mash bill of 75% distillation malt (light-to-medium-peated malt rather than Ardbeg’s super-heavily peated malt) and 25% black malt. Dr. Bill Lumsden of Ardbeg described the expression made from the strongly roasted malt as “biting on a spiky ball.” Both first-fill and refill bourbon casks were used to mature the whisky.

Notes on Tasting

The nose is greeted by notes of caramel, mild sea scents, and sweeter, lighter smoke and charcoal. With notes of citrus, cocoa, and aniseed, the taste is strong, full, and greasy.

Concerning Ardbeg whiskey

Just over 3,000 people live on the island of Islay, which is the southernmost of the Inner Hebridean Scottish Isles and just 240 square miles in size. However, the island is one of only five distilling districts in Scotland that have legal protection for their identity.

The MacDougall family established Ardbeg Distillery in 1815, and it is located on the southern coast of Islay. The distillery, which employs about one-third of Islay’s workforce by 1886, is a reminder of Scottish culture and traditions.
