Rémy Martin Louis XIII Notes on Tasting
The 1,200 eaux-de-vie combine to create a magnificent, artistic piece that is a constantly changing orchestra of lovely tones.
Sweet fruits, delicate spices, and a beautiful bouquet of flowers greet the nose. A length of flavor that goes beyond what cognac means enhances the ethereal nectar of dried rose, citrus blossoms, honeysuckle, fruits, jasmine, leather, nutmeg, sandalwood, honey, and wood bark.
The distinct flavors and characteristics that emerge in elder eau-de-vie are revealed by the palate’s complexity.
These components flow into a sophisticated, nectar-rich opulence at the end cellar master baptiste loiseau.
Concerning Rémy Martin Cognac
Established in 1724 by Rémy Martin, a descendant of Charente winemakers, the fabled House of Rémy Martin is unquestionably entwined with the Charente regions. Some of the richest and most productive crus of Grande and Petite Champagne have come from this charming area of French terroir. Some of the most aromatic grapes are produced by these fine vineyards with chalky, pale soils sourced from grande champagne.
Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bon Bois, and Bois Ordinaire are the six distinct crus (cru is the French word for growth zones) that make up the Cognac area of France, which is located on the banks of the Charente River. Known for its rich, chalky soil and peaceful hills, the Grande Champagne cru, which spans around 34,000 hectares, is thought to produce the best cognac in the area. The grapes are perfectly ripened by the terroirs’ optimal conditions, resulting in “an exhilarating bouquet of Fine Champagne.”
