ole smoky moonshine white lightnin
The State of Tennessee changed its regulations in 2009, permitting the production of moonshine for the first time in more than a century. Joe Baker co-founded Ole Smoky in Tennessee, and since then, the company has produced a variety of flavored Moonshine, over a dozen whiskies, and ready-to-drink cocktails in cans.
The Ole Smoky family, who pride themselves on being Appalachian by birth, were among the first to enter the Smoky Mountains. They use age-old whiskey-making techniques to create their whiskeys. Baker quickly began creating unique, mountain-made moonshine once Tennessee’s state legislation changed to allow for the distillation of spirits. This made Ole Smoky the first distillery in East Tennessee history to receive a federal license.
Their moonshine selection is even more extensive, with a variety of flavored expressions ranging from 35 to 100+ proof. Their whiskey portfolio includes Mango Habanero, Cinnamon, Root Beer, Peach, Peanut Butter, Vanilla Bean, Cookies & Cream, and several other expressions. Ole Smoky White Lightnin’, made from corn in East Tennessee and intended for cocktails, is distilled six times.

Notes on Tasting
There are notes of corn in the lively nose, along with a nice sweetness. With notes of sweetness, banana, citrus, corn, and a trace of vanilla, the palate is clear and unadulterated. Pepper lingers in the warm, spicy aftertaste.
