The State of Tennessee changed its regulations in 2009, permitting the production of moonshine for the first time in more than a century. Joe Baker co-founded Ole Smoky in Tennessee, and since then, the company has produced a variety of flavored Moonshine, over a dozen whiskies, and ready-to-drink cocktails in cans.

The Ole Smoky family, who pride themselves on being Appalachian by birth, were among the first to enter the Smoky Mountains. They use age-old whiskey-making techniques to create their whiskeys. Baker quickly began creating unique, mountain-made moonshine once Tennessee’s state legislation changed to allow for the distillation of spirits. This made ole smoky flavors the first distillery in East Tennessee history to receive a federal license.

Mango Habanero, Cinnamon, Root Beer, Peach, Peanut Butter, Vanilla Bean, Cookies & Cream, and a number of other styles are among their whiskey offerings. Notes on Tasting

With notes of orange, pineapple, and cherry, the 80-proof moonshine with an orange-red punch flavor has an extremely delicious scent. Although the palate is equally delicious, there are hints of corn and a hint of spice that reveal some moonshine. Warming with a touch of bitterness in the end.
