In 1870, Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. gave the distillery its official name, O.F.C. (Old Fashioned Copper), which quickly gained notoriety. With copper fermentation vats, column stills, and a special steam heating system that Buffalo Trace still use in their warehouses, the operation was incredibly sophisticated for its day. This statement honors the O.F.C. Distillery. After being distilled in 1995, the spirit was aged in barrels for 25 year old kentucky straight bourbon, producing 1,500 bottles in all.
