Jefferson’s Presidential Select 18 Year Old Bourbon Whiskey
In 1991, Jefferson’s Bourbon Presidential Select was produced at the renowned Stiltzel-Weller distillery, which was constructed by Pappy Van Winkle and shut down the same year. Before being bottled for this esteemed Jefferson’s series, the wheated bourbon was aged for eighteen years in those barrels.

Notes on Tasting
With flavors of dried fruit, leather, and a hint of nuttiness on the nose, this is a rich wheated bourbon. Toffee, fruit, vanilla, and a hint of florality add subtle sweetness, and the oak is well-balanced without ever becoming overbearing.
Concerning Jefferson’s
One of the most prominent founding fathers and the primary author of the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson was chosen to serve as the third President of the United States in 1800. During his presidency, Jefferson removed the Whiskey Excise Tax, sent Lewis and Clark west to explore the rest of the continent, and approved the purchase of the Louisiana Territory.
Jefferson frequently cared for the garden he had planted at his Monticello residence after he left public office in 1815. Jefferson and other affluent farmers at the time were known to produce their own garden spirits. Every farmer had a distinct character that represented both their individual preferences and the geographical terroir of their land. In remembrance of Jefferson and his inventiveness, Chet and Trey Zoeller created Jefferson’s Reserve Very Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Although Jefferson served as an inspiration for the Zoellers, their origins go back many generations into Kentucky’s bourbon history.
