The Door of Heaven After being aged for 15 months in Redbreast Single Pot Still barrels, 10-year-old straight bourbon developed a distinct flavor profile that included hints of spice, leather, nuts, and sherry influence. Dylan sampled more than a dozen blends before selecting the final one. At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021, the expression took home the prestigious Double Gold Medal.

Concerning the Heaven’s Door bourbon

Heaven’s Door Whiskey was introduced in 2018 as a joint venture between industry veteran Marc Bushala and Master Blender Ryan Perry, who partnered with legendary musician Bob Dylan. This is the first time the two brands have worked together, and it is the result of a cooperation with Redbreast Irish Whiskey. Redbreast’s Billy Leighton and Master Blenders Ryan Perry created it, fusing the worlds of American and Irish whiskey. Bob Dylan’s ties to Ireland and the Irish Clancy Brothers, who served as his musical inspiration, are furthered by this.

Notes on Tasting

With notes of apple, fig, and date, the nose is nuanced and subtly sweet. Nuts, marzipan, walnut, sherry overtones of raisins, and a touch of nougat add flavor to the mouth. Honey with a hint of coconut make for a delicious finish.
