Duke Bourbon Notes on Tasting
With aromas of roasted nuts, charred wood, vanilla, caramel, and nutmeg, Duke Founder’s Reserve Grand Cru Bourbon Whiskey is a truly impressive scent. A robust finish with spicy undertones follows an enticing palate that gives aromas of pepper spice and toasted almonds.
Concerning Duke Spirits
According to U.S. federal rules, bourbon must be matured in new oak barrels and bottled at 80 percent or higher after being manufactured from a mash bill that contains at least 51% maize. Straight bourbon is defined as bourbon that satisfies these standards and has been matured for at least two years. Duke Small Batch Casks of bourbon that have aged for five to 10 years are married to create Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, a straight bourbon whiskey. This bourbon is made in honor of John Wayne, who was known by the moniker “Duke.”
The Duke’s son, Ethan Wayne, developed the bourbon’s flavor profile to mirror Wayne’s own whiskey tastes, which had been kept for more than 50 years and were just recently uncovered. “My father thrived on new projects and adventures and he always loved a great glass of whiskey at the end of the day,” stated Ethan Wayne. “Our goal with the Duke was to make a Bourbon that embodies the spirit, strength and richness my father personified while realizing his unfulfilled dream of distilling fine spirits.”
