Concerning Chicken Cock Bourbon
The passion project of Matti Anttila, a former investment banker at J.P. Morgan who is now a spirits entrepreneur, is Grain & Barrel Spirits. He tried the local Brazilian cachaça while on a business trip in Brazil. He loved it so much that he made the decision to start Cabana Cachaça right away and turn it into a profitable business. In 2013, he established Grain & Barrel Spirits following another investment in spirits.
One of the oldest bourbon brands in history, the Chicken Cock label has been around since 1856. When production was shifted to Canada during Prohibition, the brand’s popularity peaked in Paris, Kentucky. After a fire devastated the Chicken Cock Distillery in the 1950s, Grain & Spirits purchased the company in 2016 and launched their whiskey line.

Notes on Tasting
The smells of honey, sweet cream, and ripe peaches fill the nose, which is delicious and creamy. There are flavors of cherry, vanilla, plum, date, and banana on the tannic palate. There are nice lingering aromas of caramel, butter, and citrus in the sweet aftertaste.
