For the Polish Wine & Spirits Festival in 2019, a special version of Blanton’s Single Barrel bourbon blanton’s was bottled.
The first single barrel bourbon to gain popularity in the United States was Blanton’s, which was first created by Elmer T. Lee, the distillery master distiller of the Ancient Age. In 1999, the Sazerac business changed the name of Ancient Age to the Buffalo Trace distillery.
Typically a 6 to 8 year old bourbon, it is aged at Buffalo Trace’s Warehouse H, the distillery’s only metal-clad warehouse and the one named for the whiskey’s creator, Albert B. Blanton. Constructed soon after prohibition, the metal warehouse distributes heat more quickly than brick warehouses, allowing for faster aging.
