Black Button Single Barrel Apple Brandy Finished Bourbon
Their reserves are the source of Black Button Apple Brandy Finished Bourbon. The release is a single barrel. After two years in its American white oak cask (number 2073), the spirit was moved into a barrel of recently harvested apple brandy, where it remained for an additional two and a half years. This leads to a delicious 119-proof expression that is found in extremely small amounts in nature.

Notes on Tasting
There are undertones of licorice, sweet apple, floral and pine scents, and mild spice notes in the nose. With honey and luscious, juicy apples on the palate, it has a substantial body. Long-lasting aromas of dry apple, baking spice, and wood characterize the aftertaste.
Concerning Black Button
At just 24 years old, Jason Barrett founded Black Button Distilling and took over as its lead distiller in 2012. Born into a family of the best men’s suit button makers, whose creations were worn by “Presidents, Popes, Kings, and Businessmen the world over,” Barret began his career in his grandfather’s factory until deciding he wanted to pursue his own interests.
Following graduation, Barrett went back to his birthplace of Rochester, New York, to pursue his passion: creating whiskey and starting the city’s first craft distillery since the Prohibition era. Every small batch of Black Button spirits is made from local NY grains, with over 90% of ingredients grown or produced in New York State. The company was named Black Button because of a family inside joke: Barret is color blind, and the family always joked that if we were to take over the family business, they’d have to produce only black buttons.
In order to promote regional and sustainable agriculture, family farms in New York State provide everything from corn, wheat, rye, and barley to dairy cream and apple cider. At the Black Button Farm in South Bristol, they even cultivate their own juniper for Black Button gin. Black Button offers vodka, moonshine, and liqueur in addition to whiskey and gin.
