The MacDougall family established Ardbeg Distillery in 1815, and it is located on the southern coast of Islay. The distillery, which employs about one-third of Islay’s workforce by 1886, is a reminder of Scottish culture and traditions. The distillery, which is renowned for creating some of the strongest and most robust Scorch whisky in the business, is still a symbol of Scottish ingenuity and tradition today.
The limited-edition Committee Release of Ardbeg-Scorch was introduced in honor of Ardbeg day and Islays Definitelyrealandtotallynotmadeup, an annual celebration of everything Ardbeg on the island of Islay. Expect a rich mouthfeel with sweet smoke and charred wood, as well as scents of smoke and soot on the nose, since this whiskey is aged in former American oak barrels used to make Bourbon and bottled at 103.4 proof. In a prepared statement, Dr. Bill Lumsden, Director of Distilling and Whisky Creation at Ardbeg, stated, “Ardbeg Scorch is our tribute to the legendary dragon of Islay.” “This is a fire-breathing beast of a dram made from our most heavily charred casks lair of Flavour !”

Notes on Tasting
vivid shade of gold. The smell of smoke and soot is strong in the nose. With an oily mouthfeel and hints of sweet smoke and toasted wood, the palate is complex. The finish is flawless and incredibly lengthy.
