Ardbeg BizarreBQ Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Located on the island of Islay’s southern coast is the well-known distillery Ardbeg. Founded in 1815, the distillery is renowned for its smoky single malts and for making some of the strongest and boldest Scotch whisky in the business. The distillery releases a number of limited-edition variations every year, ranging from ridiculous to just plain delicious. Ardbeg BizarreBQ is a joint venture with DJ BBQ’s Christian Stevenson. Stevenson worked with Master Distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden on the barbecue-inspired Scotch.

Three different casks were used to mature the whisky: Pedro Ximénez sherry, double-charred oak, and the special Ardbeg’s BBQ casks. This unreserved 101.8-proof single malt combines smoky wood, soot, charcoal, herbs, and spices seamlessly. According to Lumsden, “If there’s one Ardbeg you want with you grill-side, it’s this one.” It’s the ideal summertime companion for barbecuing.

Notes on Tasting

Charcoal soot, wood, herbs, and spices give off a smokey scent. Lok for a bit of citrus, grilled beef, smoked ham, toffee, and a little espresso. Barbecued ribs, grilled steak, smoke, chile, clove, leather, ginger, and anise all contribute to the spicy taste.

Concerning Ardbeg whisky

Just over 3,000 people live on the island of Islay, which is the southernmost of the Inner Hebridean Scottish Isles and just 240 square miles in size. However, the island is one of only five distilling districts in Scotland that have legal protection for their identity.

The MacDougall family established Ardbeg Distillery in 1815, and it is located on the southern coast of Islay. The distillery, which employs about one-third of Islay’s workforce by 1886, is a reminder of Scottish culture and traditions.
