Concerning angel’s envy bourbon
Lincoln Henderson began working for Brown-Forman as a grain chemist after graduating from college and rose to the position of Master Distiller. He developed new brands like Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Jack Daniel Distillery “Gentleman Jack,” and Jack Daniel Distillery Single Barrel Whiskey while honing his craft during his 40-year career at Brown-Forman. Henderson was in charge of quality control, technical distillery monitoring, and sensory evaluation in addition to developing new products. “I never regretted a day when I had to go to work,” recalls Henderson, a founding member of the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame and recipient of the Malt Advocate’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Henderson made the bold decision to start Angel’s Envy Bourbon after leaving Brown-Forman. “Angel’s Envy is a lot of things,” Henderson remarked. It’s what I do for a living. The smoothness of this whiskey is unmatched. It blends more than 400 years of port wine history with more than 200 years of bourbon history. The phrase “angel’s share” refers to the percentage of whiskey that evaporates when it ages in wooden barrels, and that is where the name originates. Henderson discovered that the angels could prefer a bigger cut after tasting the bourbon. His son, Wes Henderson, is currently in charge of the family business.
