1792 Bourbon 225th Anniversary For Sale
For this special release, a unique selection of barrels was hand-picked. These barrels were bottled at precisely 92.15 proof after being matured for ten years at Barton 1792 Distillery. The fact that Kentucky became the fifteenth state to join the Union in 1792 is commemorated by this unique proof. The back label and bottle’s dark blue neckband pay homage to the official state seal. High Rye, Sweet Wheat, Port Finish, Single Barrel, and Full Proof Bourbons had all been released before this 225th Anniversary Bourbon, the sixth limited edition of 1792 Bourbon variations.
Notes on the Tasting of 1792 225th Anniversary Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Nose: The glass opens to reveal caramel, fruit, and vanilla cream. The fruit reminds me of a strawberry or a cherry. A lovely comment about angel food cake is also included underneath.
Palate: I taste a little caramel, brown sugar, and oak first, then a warm, juicy red fruit that is more pronounced than the one I tasted in the 1792 Sweet Wheat. The fruity and creamy aromas are carried throughout the finish with a pleasant burn at the tail end.
Finish: A hint of caramel, sweet, fruity, and oaky. The whiskey leaves a pleasant “full” feeling on the palate and has a medium-length finish. It is finished with a pleasant spiciness and a hint of vanilla.
